Collection: Glass Blowing Courses

Because we pay our teachers a deposit at the time of sign up. We can only offer a reschedule with a fee of 20%, two weeks or more before the date of the class. Anything after that point there will be a 50% rescheduling fee or you for fit your appointment and will not be reimburse. This way we can have time to reschedule the class. 

There is also a minimum age of 16 years, with a guardians signature. Because, we are working studio with multiple artist and teach multiple people a class. We ask that you do not bring spectators with you. If a parent is bringing their child we ask they stay in the gallery. They will be able to see from our couches, through our viewing window. Again spectators are not allowed in the studio.

Prism Glassworks offers an array of lessons and rentals. Please browse services offered or call us at 518 273 4527 for additional information.

  1. The 1 day Special: A 2 hour session; great for first timers, and anyone who has always wanted to try blowing glass. Students will learn the basics of glassblowing and make some of the following: marble, pendants, icicles, a swizzle stick or blown ornament. to bring home. In-house Prism Glassworks instructor provides tools and materials. 2 spaces available per session. Cost is $180 per person. 
  2. The Group 1 day Special: A 2 hour session; great for celebrations with friends. A chance to try something new together. Students will learn the basics of glassblowing and make a marble, pendants, icicles, a swizzle stick or a blown ornament to bring home. Two In-house Prism Glassworks instructor provides tools and materials. 4 spaces available per session. Cost is $800 with a $100 non-refundable deposit. please Email artist@troyglassstudio.com about scheduling a date and time. 
  3. Individual Lessons: $150/hour. By appointment only. Call or email Prism Glassworks at 518-273-4527/artist@troyglassstudio.com for more information. ($100 non refundable deposit is due to secure your date)
  4. Two Day SpecialTwo 3-hour-long sessions; great for both beginners and those with minor introductory knowledge of glassblowing. Please note that there are two spaces available per session, but that this course can run with one person only. The cost is $600 per person. A $100 non refundable deposit is required to secure your date. This option is available Friday & Saturday  from 12pm-3pm.
  5. 3 Week Course: 2 days a week @ 3 hour long sessions for 3 weeks (18 hours total) plus an extra 2-hour rental time per session (12 hours) 30 hours of torch time. This option is great for the emerging intermediate glassblower who wants extra time to practice, but can also be tailored and delivered to a beginner student. This option is also ideal for those who are interested in starting a glass blowing hobby. There are 2 spaces available per session, and the cost is $2250 per person.   6. 8 Week Course: 2 days a week @ 3 hour long sessions for 8 weeks (48 hours total) plus 2-hour rental time per session (32 hours). These 80 hours total of torch time are great for those interested in learning what it takes to have a career in glassblowing. We will custom tailor the class to fit the art style and aesthetic you're trying to reach. A flexible schedule is required to make this course option work. 2 spaces available per session. Please note that one of our previous classes is required to take this class. Total cost per person is $6000. Time: Wednesday & Thursday 3pm - 8pm. *If a student would like to book past 8 weeks, we can create a new contract and schedule after the course has ended.
