Issue No.48

Dear Friends,

Last month we had Sean Foley a.k.a. STF Glass for our monthly Troy Night Out Demo. He came through with his demo "Gettin' Lippy With It." Sean brought a bunch of his minitubes and sherlocks, all of which were based around his use of encalmos and lipwraps. He mentioned that although he has been blowing glass for seventeen years he has only been playing with encalmos exclusively for the past year. Sean decided to use purple lilac, slyme, and blue leprechaun for his minitube. I made a couple of marbles to attach to the piece. One was made using slyme, blue leprechaun, and an opal in a dot-stack pattern, while the other was an implosion marble using fumed cane and a small opal. Sean made his signature STF implosion marble to finish off the attachments. Even though it was Labor Day Weekend a decent sized crowd showed up and watched from about 8:30 pm on. Here are some photos from the night and the stills of the finished rig. Thanks again Sean for a great demo and an awesome piece for the gallery!

During the demo we also had an art show going on in the gallery. Life Of Worth brought some great artwork into the gallery for their collective show. It was great to have all of the work in the shop. Almost all of the members have had a solo show in the gallery, and it was great to see all of them and their work together.
